Waves

Radiohead: Reckoner(from "In Rainbows" album)

...I love Radiohead and feel like the mood of this song right now. At one point the lyrics say: "You are not to blame..." This is hard to believe, but I want so desperately to KNOW that.

When I was a child the waves were a giant toy to be played with,
Now they threaten to drown me.

My 18 year old son is really into radiohead, and I like music - all kinds - so I downloaded one of their albums. I really really love it, but it's so melancholy that it makes me depressed. Then I have to listen to Wham! or some other mind numbing 80's crap (which I also love by the way) in order to get out of my funk. So I cycle - Radiohead, Wham, Radiohead, Go-go's, Radiohead, Duran Duran, etc.

It's amazing how much a song can speak to you when you need it the most. You've never really "heard" the lyrics until you needed them for support.

Radiohead is my favorite band behind Bob Marley who (in my opinion) is in his own category. And this song is my fav. from "In Rainbows."

I think Radiohead should be the official music for the mentally ill.

Interesting lyrics, and the pictures at the beach says it all also. Thanks for sharing!
